The Black Belt Instructor Team at Destiny Martial Arts holds a combined 130+ years of martial arts experience. Our students are privileged to train under a 7th Dan Master – Master Dana Johnson – who trained directly under General Choi, the founder of TaeKwon-Do.

Dana Johnson, VII Dan
Master Johnson started training in TaeKwon-Do at age 14 in Nova Scotia earning his black belt. He joined the military shortly after graduating from high school and became heavily involved with unarmed combat training within his unit which came to him naturally. After he left the military he continued in his TaeKwon-Do training in Quebec and then shortly after, Alberta.
Throughout his years of training Master Johnson has competed successfully in many tournaments winning numerous medals and trophies. He was honoured to receive his 4th degree black belt directly from the founder of TaeKwon-Do – General Hong Hi Choi, thus making him an International examiner and Instructor. He most recently received his 7th degree black belt, thereby promoting him to the title of Master. Master Johnson has also advanced to the rank of 3rd degree black belt in Japanese Ju-Jitsu, trains in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and is an experienced knife defense instructor. He was also control tactics Instructor for the Alberta Justice Staff College in Edmonton during his employment as a law enforcement officer. Master Johnson has taught martial arts seminars and courses on a global basis throughout such places as Europe, South East Asia as well as the US, all over Canada and Central and South America.
